Storyboard Always Forever
There are a lot of fun things from Holt’s love story I want to highlight in this storyboard.
Holt
The hottie on the cover… WOW!
Sometimes, I write to a muse that isn’t always the cover model. It wasn’t the case for Holt. From day one, my muse was the cover model, Zack Salaun.
Zack has brown eyes, however thanks to the magic of Photoshop, they’re blue on the cover.
The pose is perfect as a former rock star turned daddy and music exec.
It’s rare to find models with a little hair on their chest. Zack has just enough to make it outrageously sexy, but not too much to make it overwhelming.
I love, love, love his tattoos.
I usually ask my designer to remove jewelry on man, but Zack’s necklace is perfect for Holt’s character.
Honestly, I could go on and on about this incredible photo and how much I love it.
The second I saw it, I knew it was the cover for Holt’s book.
Even now, many months later, I’m still positive I made the right choice. It’s always challenging buying a cover image for a character well before you even write his love story. Obviously, you get to know the characters as you write the story and let me tell you, many times the character surprises you.
Everly
Everly’s character came to life when the following images landed in my Facebook newsfeed. I love the models’ hair colour.
I thought it was very edgy.
I also thought it would be perfect for a character who was taking more chances in her life. Granted, she got a little nudge to make the change, but in the end, she went for it.
I shared this image inside my private Facebook group and a few hairdressers warned a colour like that requires a lot of maintenance.
I’m sure it does.
Luckily, in romance, anything can happen 😉
Luna
Luna started out as a people, however since initially the story was set in London, she became a Staffie, aka Staffordshire Bull Terrier, because pit bulls are banned in London, UK.
When I moved the story to LA, I kept Luna as a Staffie because they’re known as the nanny dog.
That said, the little girl below and her pit bull best friend were my inspiration for the incredible relationship between Naomi and Luna.
I started following Scarley’s World in early 2018.
If I recall correctly, at the time there was a lot of controversy around pit bulls because a lot of cities across America were banning them, stating it was a very dangerous breed of dog.
But in the same token, this little girl was getting a lot of buzz because her best friend is this big pit bull, but he’s really a big ol’ teddy bear.
I couldn’t get enough of watching their videos and I really couldn’t get over how she would put all these crazy costumes on the dog and the dog seemed so agreeable.
I wanted that for Naomi and her best friend.
I’m not a dog person in the sense I’ve never owned a dog even as a child and I tend to get a little––okay, a lot––nervous around big dogs. That said, during the research for this book, I developed a whole new appreciation and respect for dogs and dog owners.
I truly didn’t realize how intelligent and intuitive dogs were until I watched God knows how many hours of YouTube videos.
I understand why some people are so obsessed with their furry babies.
I also understand why people say dogs are a man’s best friend.
I still check out Scarley’s World to find out what’s happening with the pair. I can’t believe how popular they are now. They have so many followers.

Noami
Claire Ryann Crosby, aka, the tiny musician, is my muse for Naomi.
I guess I should say, she’s my second muse for Naomi.
I think Holt’s little girl is the perfect cross between Claire and Jennifer Geiger, aka Scarley’s World, when they were four years old.
Fun Facts Always Forever
Remember the scene when all the girls are checking out Holt from the window of the donut shop?
The classic “Diet Coke Break” commercial with vocals by Etta James is my inspiration for the scene.
If I’m not mistaken, this is a commercial is from the early 90s.
Here’s a hilarious spoof one.
If men were to ogle and check out woman so overtly, there would be an outcry, but we do it all the time as women. I think men are more subtle and more careful.
We just don’t care. We’ll shamelessly check out a guy.
Maybe it’s a chromosome thing since it’s a known fact in strip clubs, men don’t react. They sit there with passive faces—with their manhood on alert—and enjoy the entertainment.
Go to any Magic Mike show or strip show where men are featured, and the women are practically losing of their minds, flinging underwear at this stage, whistling, hollering, throwing money at the guys, inviting them to their place later, proposing marriage.
Fun FASHION Facts Always Forever
The fashion was really fun because it’s an integral part of the Flashback Fridays.
Flashback Friday the 80s
Nothing screams 80s like this outfit. It literally looks like it jumped out of a 80s video. I can’t decide if my favourite fashion accessory are the cut off gloves or the belt.
Of course, I had to dress up Everly’s staff for the 80s theme Flashback Friday.

Flashback Friday the 50s
It was Grease all the way as the inspiration for this Flashback Friday.
Callum’s 50s outfit is a nod to the great Elvis Pressley.
The sex bomb outfit below is my inspiration for the outfit Everly wore for her second hookup with Holt. Vavavoom!
I considered the look below because I LOVE- LOVE-LOVE beautiful Marilyn Monroe’s hot pink dress + strappy heels, but it didn’t fit the era. Still, Marilyn looks stunning.

The killer wedge heels were the determining factor in selecting this outfit for Everly’s first official date with Holt.

I’m not one for matchy-matchy outfits, but this is such a pretty look. And it fits the character so well. Imagine this blush pink against Everly’s violet-red hair. To die for.
Outift Everly’s wore the morning she and Holt reunite a few days before Christmas
As someone who lives in the North Pole and who’s bundled up like crazy a few days before Christmas, I can just imagine what it’s like to live in a part of the world where it’s still beach weather nearing Christmas.
