My Muses
Amelia – Kate Beckinsale
I wanted a beautiful British woman as my muse for Amelia. A quick Google search gave me a few names, but when I saw the first photo below, I knew a young Kate Beckinsale was it!
It’s only after I found her photo that I discovered that she was still quite popular. I knew her from some of her earlier roles, but I have not followed her career and I didn’t know she was part of the popular Underworld: Blood Wars.
In my opinion, the 2nd photo of her in the white dress on the bed really represents Amelia’s strength and vulnerability very well.
I found a photo of the little girl well before I started writing this romance and I thought it represented Amelia when she was a child. I just had to include it here. She’s way too adorable for words.
Holden – Chris Hemsworth
It might be cliché, but when I was looking for a sexy blond hunk as the muse for one of alpha males, Chris Hemsworth was it.
I mean, come on, who wouldn’t dream of spending an evening with him—of course he wouldn’t be married 😉
The man oozes masculinity.
Don’t get me started on that deep rich voice and don’t get me started on those blue eyes.
His wife is definitely a VERY lucky woman.
Brandon – David Gandy
It’s a well-known fact that I think that sexy British model David Gandy is delicious.
I know, I know, not everyone agrees with me, and that’s okay, but I think that he is not only incredibly handsome, but he’s also very debonair. And let’s not forget, very few men look as good as he does in the suit 😉
Those gorgeous blue eyes seal the deal in my book!
PM Lord Cavendish – Pierce Brosnan
Amongst all of the actors that have played the role of James Bond, Pierce Brosnan has always been my favorite.
I should also fess up to the fact that The Thomas Crown Affair is my all time fave romantic movie.
Pierce is in his mid-60s and he’s still smoking hot, but he was just a little too old to play the role of one of my leading alpha males.
That said, I thought he would play the role of Prime Minister Lord Victor Cavendish to a T.
Nikolaj von Henningsen – Aaron Diaz
If you don’t know it yet, Nikolaj has his own story. That said, since he’s always been one of my Top Alphas, I thought I’d bring him back. In his original story, the point of view was from the woman who stole his heart, in this story, we get to know the sexy Danish billionaire a lot better. It’s different when a man is hanging out with his boys.
From the beginning, the following photo of Aaron Diaz has been my inspiration for Nikolaj. It’s true that the two men come from two different parts of the world and the different backgrounds, but that fierce look in Aaron’s eyes is exactly what I imagine would be burning in Nikolaj’s!

Ink and Facial Scars on Brandon and Holden
Holden facial scars
After finding out Amazon wasn’t keen on models with scars on their faces, I modified the story because I wasn’t going to put scars on the models’ faces.
That said, initially (and in the first version of the story), I thought it would be interesting to have a very handsome man wear his bravado on his face because he served his country. When I saw the following drawing, I thought it represented the type of scar I imagined on Holden’s face.

Brandon’s scar was much easier because his muse, David Gandy already has one. I simply extended it. Brandon’s scar runs from under his eye all the way up to his hairline.

Notting Hill is one of London’s poshest neighborhoods. This house spectacular house really stood out for me and I really wanted to integrate it inside the story.
The Bromley
The Bromley is inspired by The Royal Pavilion, also known as the Brighton Pavilion, is a Grade I listed former royal residence located in Brighton. It’s is an exotic palace in the centre of Brighton with a colourful history. Built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV.

Virginia Water, Surrey, is a town—with 3,000-4,000 residents—where houses cost a fortune. It offers stunning lake views, commuting distance from London and the exclusive Wentworth Golf Club! The town has the most expensive homes in the UK!

Bora Bora is definitely on my bucket list.
It takes 8 1/2 from Los Angeles, nearly 13 hours from New York and nearly 21 hours from Paris—where Amelia, Brandon and Holden fly from.
In other words, it’s on the other side of the planet.
From what I’ve heard, it’s literally paradise on earth and one of the most beautiful places you’ve ever seen. I’ve also heard that the jetlag is brutal. Still, worth the trip 😉
Luxurious overwater bungalows at the St Regis Bora Bora Resort—this is where Amelia, Brandon and Holden stay when they leave Paris and this is also where the return to celebrate their one year anniversary as a trio.

The Food
Yes, I’ll admit it, I love good food and that is why food is part of every single one of my books. I might have gone a little overboard in past books, but this time around I did my best to tame my enthusiasm.

I seriously could eat one of these every single weekend. I love bread. I love cheese. I love cured meats. I love olives. Put them all on one plate and I’m a very happy camper 😉
Not only are they delicious and very attracted to the eye, there are also easy to prepare.

Believe it or not, I eat one of these Buddah bowls at least 2 to 3 times a week every week. I discovered them in 2016 on Pinterest and I’ve never looked back 😉
The Bling
Bulgari is a luxury Italian brand that is incredible and incredibly priced. It’s one of those brands, I can appreciate A LOT. I just can’t afford it until I marry my billionaire.
When I saw these earrings while doing a Google search, I know Amelia had to have them!
They’re the ones Brandon and Holden offer her when they officially ask her to be their girlfriend!
Wedding Proposal Gifts
It’s quite a coincidence that Amelia’s middle name is Jade.
It’s only when I started doing research that I realized there was a stone called jadeite. Jadeite is considered the king of all jades. It’s far more expensive than a regular jade and much harder to find.
During my research, I also found one of the most famous jadeite jewelry. It was created by the house of Cartier for a very rich American socialite and heiress born in 1912. She died in 1979.
Barbara Hutton’s jadeite, ruby and diamonds Cartier necklace is very famous and very coveted. When I saw the whopping price tag, I knew my boys would be able to afford it for their queen.
Here’s a little history about the necklace from Sothebys’ website:
“The jadeite bead necklace was kept as a family heirloom till 1988, when it was offered as part of Princess Nina Mdivani’s collection in an auction in Geneva. For its debut in the auction market, this magnificent necklace fetched an impressive US$2 million, which was the highest price ever paid for a piece of jadeite jewellery, causing a great sensation both in the East and the West. Six years later in 1994, the necklace took centre stage at an auction room in Hong Kong and was sold for double its previous hammer price, achieving an astonishing US$4.2 million, setting a new record yet again for jadeite jewelleries worldwide. Since then, this impressive jadeite bead necklace has become one of the most legendary and important piece of jadeite jewellery known to the world.”

I’ve never really played pool. I’ve never had any interest, that said, I thought it would be interesting for a girl a woman of Amelia’s rank to crush the game.
Imagine my surprise when I realized that there were several female professional pool players. I had no idea the game was that popular or that you could make a career out of it.

The Thomas Crown Affair
Just in case you’ve never watch The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), you totally have to.
I love everything about that movie. Don’t get me started on Rene Russo’s wardrobe. I salivated over the fashion in the movie for years. Many of those pieces are still classics today.
