Earlier this week, Amazon broke my heart.
Just as I was about to go to bed on Monday night at about 1 am (so Tuesday wee hours) I saw an email from China, letting me know Hunter’s books were no were to be found on Amazon.
I was like, What?
After an hour of intense research on Amazon and in my admin account, I emailed Amazon.
The next morning (Tuesday), I received an email, letting me know they were looking into it. The second the phone services opened, I called to follow up.
I spoke to numerous people and departments. No one knew what happened to my books and no one had an explanation. In essence, without warning, Amazon pulled down Hunter’s books.
Not one to back down easily, I kept calling and requesting to speak to a supervisor.
By 4 o’clock in the afternoon I was beat, broken, disheartened, and just plain sad.
I’m not even going to lie, I spent most of Tuesday crying with frustration.
I posted my situation in a couple Facebook author groups, and a number of author-friends suggested I contact another department.
I got a quick answer from that other department, and I was told it was a technical issue and not a copyright issue, an issue with the trigger in the story, or Amazon trying to censor steamy romance.
Through those author groups, I also found out there was a big technical issue on Amazon earlier this week when they launched Kindle Vella. Apparently, it crashed the entire online store. My book got caught in the shit storm.
Even though this is no fault of my own and 100% on Amazon, I have to wait because the books are now in the hands of the review department, and it might take up to five days for them to give me an answer.
I know a lot of you are new readers and came to discover me via Cowboys’ Indulgence, and I’m sure now, you must be looking for the next book.
I apologize for this mess.
The moment I get a resolution, I will send another updated email.
Rest assured, I’ll do everything in my power to get that story back on Amazon.
It’s just that it sucks. I just had a huge promotion at the end of the month of June and Amazon is robbing a lot of readers by not allowing them to continue the series.
It was important for me to send an email to flag this.

I guess Amazon has them back up. I just went on and they are there. I guess it straightened out faster than expected. Yay!

I’m SICK of sensoring! I read a lot. Quite a few are ARC reads. I’ve read steamy romance far more steamy and dark and those books aren’t tagged. If there is a rating like for movies to allow readers to make purchase decisions they wouldn’t need to pull books. Seems more of a personal hit than a glitch. I’d buy books directly from you Scarlett if you ever went that route. Chin up, we’re routing for you!

looks like book 7 is missing from the Falling for a Small Town Playboy series
All 5 parts for Hunter + the first part of the paperback.
OMG! How annoying. I WANT to read the books that I WANT to read. I don’t see where Amazon or anyone else gets to decide that. I pay Amazon for a service not to censor my reading habits. My sex life sucks. I NEED these books.

I have to agree with one of the comments above. I read a great deal of ARCs, from clean romance to erotic and dark erotic. I have heard from other authors about the screwups on amazon. But I love reading on my kindle, as it is so much more convenient to read than carrying around several books.
I certainly hope the situation is resolved for you soon. Another author that I read lost a ton of her reviews once her problem was resolved. She was just happy that the books were back up for fans. Your situation could end up in a similar manner, but if your books get back up, that is the main thing. Good luck.

So sorry! I have read every book and Hunter is one of my faves. But your books are worth waiting for, so keep your head up!

Why did you divide Hunter’s book into serial form ? I have read the original twice and am planning on reading it again.
Why did you move them to Texas? I loved reading a story about somewhere other than Texas.
When will a book about Sean be in the works? He’s almost as cool as Hunter.
It was originally published as a serial because it’s 340,000 words.
Why did you move them to Texas? Creative reasons. Dallas is another tech hub.
When will a book about Sean be in the works? Shane’s story is on the list.
