How’s January 2022 treating you?

On Monday, January 17th we got his with a blizzard. There was so much snow, it was insane. It’s been many years since we haven’t gotten hit that bad.

When I went out for my evening walk (that felt like hiking a small mountain due to the snowbanks) I was shocked by the number of cars that had been snowed in by the city’s snow plows. On top of that, it was frigidly cold.

For the remainder of the week, it’s been ridiculously cold. The kind of cold it makes your forehead hurt. I know it should be expected because I live in the North Pole, but year after year, winter never fails to surprise me.

A good friend of mine who lives an hour outside of the city was snowed in. It usually snows a lot more in the areas outside of the main city core than in the city. The sad thing was that her cat was really sick and she desperately needed to get to the vet, but the snow was a challenge. In the end, she made it thanks to her neighbors’ help, but her cat who was already sick, took a turn for the worse, and she had to put him down.

I’m not a pet person, but my friend is. She loves her cat like other people love their children. She’s hurting right now, and it’s really, really sad.

I know a lot of states in eastern US he also got hit pretty badly.

If you got hit, I hope you and your family are safe.

Speaking of safe, we were forced into another lock down that ends at the end of the month. Hopefully there won’t be another one. Businesses are really suffering.

Well, enough about snow, Arctic weather, and a nasty virus that just seems not to want to go away. Let’s jump into something a hell of a lot more fun… like Zane Keller.

What’s on your TBR list?

Some authors never read other books in their genre because you don’t want to get influenced. Although I’ve never read EL James’s and Sylvie Day’s books for that same reason, I’m an avid billionaire romance reader. For me, it’s important to understand what makes readers’ heart sing.

Mostly, I read for research, but once in a while, a book captures my heart and turns me into a fan girl. That’s exactly what happened with Parker S. Huntington’s Darling Venom.

That was my first time reading a book from the author and, oh, my God, that book was insane. It’s nothing like I’ve read before, but what a heartfelt story.

If you haven’t read it, you absolutely, absolutely, absolutely have to read it. It’s a wonderful story.

It’s a fairly long story, but Parker does a phenomenal job keeping you riveted throughout the whole book.

Fair warning, there are a few triggers and she mentions them.

What am I up to?

I sent Book 3 of the Billionaires of Summerville, Texas to one of the proofreaders. I got her edits back and I’ll take care of those before sending the manuscript to the other proofreader. Then, the book is going to the advanced readers.

I’m just about to complete editing Xavier’s (Zane’s little brother) romance. I can’t wait to share it with you because I already know, you’re going to love the story. The main heroine, a full-figured sassy girl, will win you over. Don’t even get me started on the alpha. Xavier is delicious.

What time done with that, I jump in the next story––editing Gage Hollingsworth’s romance. I still have to figure out if he is going to be Book 4 of them Billionaire Moguls or if he gets a new series because I’m planning on writing another grumpy billionaire book (probably a grumpy single dad), and perhaps it might be better to start a new spin off of three books. I’m still thinking. Stay tuned.
